Money-Tense?

It is so sad for me to read about such brainy beauty like her goes bad. I felt embarassed to have her picture here let alone her story (ies), so for those who want to read more;

Click here -------------> Telegraph

So, how's your weekend? I'm asking because mine isnt that great. I slept the whole Saturday and went to my in laws on Sunday.

Paycheck.

Have you heard the old says ' Lagi besar periuk, lagi besar keraknya.'? Well, my pay is not that big, but I dare not to say that the old saying goes untrue. Most of it I can say that from my own view of the perspective 'earnings' itself is the change of lifestyle. People mostly yearn for bigger things and eats bigger portions when they had larger amount of income. This is because of thier needs and wants tend to grow side by side with their increments.

To feel free from monetary stress is being able to live life to the fullest = 1/3 of your salary. Can you make your life happier without any worries by spending every single things by just using one of third of your whole income?

Yup. Neither do I.

Purchasing Power

He is driving a fancy car. He always put on swanky suits that worth a month salary; he dines at nothing less than Dome, having his coffee break at Starbucks, and shops at boutiques.

And until today you’re grinning, envious eyes stare and your heart yell to wish you have the same luck as he is.

And what possibly a four-figure-salary-basic like you have done to achieve your desire? How do you save your money for that hip handbags or shoes that have been screaming your name at the counter?I know most of my friends finding way to cope with their expenses for their daily needs and also to submit to their ever-growing wants.

Yup, if you guess they will opt for a credit card, you are right.

I’ve got this table from HSBC, where they mentioned about the pros and cons of having a credit card.

Pro's
Immediate use of Goods and services
-Get it now, pay later. This is esspecially helpful for big value items such as a piece of furniture, a car, or a house.
Shopping convinience
- Credit cards and charge cards allow you to shop and travel without carrying a large amount of cash. They also provide a monthly record of your spending.
Reservations and purchases can be done via phones and internet
-Credit cards and charge cards make it possible to reserve rental cars or hotel rooms, or buy tickets of other merchandise over phone calls or internet.
Emergency cash
- Credit can be a temporary solutions if there is any financial difficulties.

Con's
Its costs money
-Purchases paid of over time cost more, often much more, than cash. The 'irresistable bargain'
may not be a good deal if you add in the cost of credit.
Its tempts overspending
- Credits make impulse buying easy. Some consumers goes deeply into debt buying items they dont really needs or they can't afford.
It ties up future income
- credit purchases means you have to pay for the item, plus interest, in the future. This means you have less cash in the future.
It may result in losses
- If you fail to make payments on time, you will lose the merchandise. For loans that require colleteral, you may risk losing your valueable property.

I know a lot of people using it, responsibly. (I hope.), There’s a lot of reasons (and excuses too.) Personally I feel, as long as the world is not going to end if I don’t have one, so I won’t. I like to have my own purchasing power (where did I hear that from?). I can say that I’m savvy in every aspect of shopping world entirely. Everything I own, I will make sure it’s worth it. Although it is frustrating and green with envy to see everything else is own by everyone else, but I rather fully own my belongings right after I bought it. If its anything needs to be purchase in a lot sum of money; there’s always a bankard.

A Bankard is your ATM card that act as a debit card when you buy something; which the money will be credited from your account balance. So far, all giant outlets and petrol station and nationwide stores and boutiques are using this service, and there is no extra charge. It is much safer and you will not tend to be overspending; and you have the total control of it. And if you do (overspending) you may not risk of increasing the amount of credit charge as you are solely responsible for it, and it will stop your buying advantage for a certain minimum amount of your account balance.

So, friends, although its tempting to spend and swipe; spend wisely and remember to settle your debt before its hunt you down.

19-03-2008: When I turned 26...

HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY !!

Dont get me wrong. My birthday is on 21st. Since We are not working tommorow and Friday will be a hectic day for me, I'm posting this entry earlier.

So, let see. I'm going to turn to 26 years old lady/woman/whatever in 2 days time. That's old. It sounded better when you're 20, a sign of adultery freedom to many.. It even sounded even better when you're 23, thats mean you've survived the hustle of teenage disaster. It starts hit me when the number turn to 25; a sign of maturity.

Mature. That's big and heavy to carry.

I remembered on my 15th(or is it 13th, cant really remember) birthday, I have asked my ayah to buy me KRU cassette AWAS. Laugh all you want, at that time I seriously think they are the coolest hiphop band around.I was given a daily allowances for pocket money and it is impossible for me to come up with a few bucks for a cassette. So, as promised he bought me the cassette and place it on my bed side table on my birthday.

I cant stop smiling the whole day as I am the happiest girl alive that time.

Later when all this KRU fame faded and I have finished my highschool and started working as sales assistant at one of a local pharmacy in KJ, I make my own money and started spending on stuff I have been eye-ing for so long. After SPM result came out, I studied in Uitm for 5 years and at the end of 2005, I start my new real job. The pay is not that much; but still I can spend larvishly for brands I couldnt afford earlier.

Yet, it cant subside the satisfaction as when I receive my first KRU cassette.

It is true they say that gift of love worth more than buckets of gold. Am I the type of person who grows by age and fade its sensitivity and compassionate bit by bit, day after day?I truly believe I appreciate my things more back then; than nowadays. The way I look at things, they way I interpreted situations it is so naive and so..

Pure. Nothing ever come between my good thoughts to all sort of people.

Maybe by age; I become more aware, more restricted. I dont know.

Its been 26 years I breath the air Allah given to us; and by that many years I can say little that I know about the true life. And I do pray that I will be in my good health, and a properous future and granted my wishes for me as well as my families and friends.

Happy Birthday, may myself be a better person in all aspects of life for many years ahead.

Johor Visit

The appoint for MB positions in several hots state have finalize. For all, let us pray for the new appointees to make some changes and let them walk the walk they have been sprouting about all this while.

I'm back to JB, my husband's hometown last weekend. To celebrate the wedding of Awul and Ana, Rafi's cousin. This is my first time ever to minggle with all the extended relatives there.Of course I'm nervous and over-prepared to meet them and trying so hard to please or gratify thier expectation towards me, I dont know how can I be this insecure. Maybe because they are all from a very well -to- do background, and me? just a truly kampung-hearted girl that used to lived in wooden home complete with chickens running around and not knowing the latest toys ; because all I have that time are crafted by my ayah and fellow uncles.

How I wish to stay small; not knowing the burdens of responsibilities and expectations.

Possibly it went fine; the akwardness vanished within a few hours together and I relived with the fact that our white and black mixture does work.

Had a blast; they are fun people definitely; despite the obvious makcikness aura, that like to judge appearances (a polite way to say nosy, huhu. Rated minimal on my count.) Not a big family. At least not as big as mine. Thank God.

A successful wedding entirely.

Have you heard about the 100 years (or is it 1,000?) old egg? I tried it once when we went out for a drink at some Royal Square at the town. It is tasty. I'm not lying. It looks horrible, like one big mole; crystalized. I will definitely come back for more.

I'll be back with more constructive information, I promise.

Stories to be told.

I often wonder how it felt to be a reporter/paparazzi/journalist; having to met or chase people around to cover their stories to make a living. As we all know, it is for high-risk taker only. I hope they are paid well too.

Everyday, we are being served by various aspect of stories, news and reports. A one-day length of news that are valuable today; thrash tomorrow. The span of news life are becoming narrower seeing that there is a lot of newspapers and magazines in Malaysia.

To all my fellow friends who are working in this line, I salute you!

Have you all remember one of the scene in Bujang Lapok (vintage, i know) where the character plays by A (i think its Aziz Satar) and A1 (Apek la sape ntah..)

A: Ini berapa ringgit lu mau angkat Apek?
A1: Ini aaa.. (kira2, congceng2) lima puloh sen!
A: Aiiiiiihhhhh.. apa pasal murah sangat, saya beli satu keping tiga puloh sen! (sambil buat muka marah and I'm sure tengah bertenggong)
A1: Saya bli mukan mau bace..

*scene di atas telah diedit ikut sukahati aku; not sure wether its the exact words, but you guys know what I'm trying to say right?

I'm sure people back then and people nowdays not very different from the way they treat news; only a fractions of awareness maybe if there is one.

Being someone working in that kind of line; I am certain that they all have a broader mind and broader perspective on issues, and most importantly sharpen thier judging skills towards results and consequences happening in everyday life.

Early teen, I want to be a writer or reporter for a newspaper. (Not TV News, people. aku pemalu orangnye.) Since I'm sucks with numbers; and I can't seem to have any interest in sciences (earlier, I wanted to be a Doctor. but with my PMR result.. lupakan sahaja..) the only subjects I'm good at are languages. And maybe arts. but there is one incident during my art class, I'm trying to sketch a pretty little canary (a bird) and ended up my canary looks like a very big and hedious peacock, and a branch of a tiny tree.

Haha. Those days I tell you..

Back to my story here, since then I admire thier writings and I never had a day goes by without reading the newspaper. Even the adverts.

Until..

I get to know the existance of 'internet'.

Bottom line, I want to be a writer; but I am not qualified then I become what I am today.

Close enough.

Hoping for Malaysia's Best product.

I am having a training for digitization course as I am writing this at PNM. I feel like a newly freshened designer; not knowing that I have the talent all this while; and not aware of the usage either.

As the Malaysian had just selected Malaysian leaders to voice out thier needs and wants; the topics are hot on everyone plates. It is not that we are going to topple down the government entirely; after all they have done something right to be able to minister for half a century. Something had been done well when we are developing like any other countries. So, they dont have to take the blame of not doing a good job, only the nations wanted more than that.

And the corruption inside the government wall havent contribute to the fame of the party.Isnt it amazing how money and wealth can alter one’s integrity.

Let just hope for the newly merged government to perform its duty to serve us the civillians in a proper way without any perjudice and political interest.

Pray for Malaysia’s prosperity and peace.

Work Stress..

There are some points I need to cover for today's entry.
1. I hate reading the newspaper these days. All these media made it clear to us that they are being a straw (sluuuurrrrp) behind the ass-es of the big Shot.
2. The weather nowdays made it hard for me to predict to wash or not to wash my husband and my own working clothes. If you see me wearing baju kurung in a row, meaning I dont have time to do the laundry yet.
3. The workload season is coming up. The request keep pouring in, its keeping me buzy and nuts at the same time. Feel like having a break, but it just not a profound choice at the moment.
4. Read somewhere about having a soak in a warm tea water pool can reduce the mycoses and also soften the skin. Should consider that to ease the throbing pain around this ankle.
5. There's a wedding this weekend; and another weekend coming up. I dont feel like mingling during the wedding. Just not up to it. I will bore myself rotten. Believe me.
6. Met old time friend yesterday, awed for his advanced fashion sense. accompany him to search for a pair of suspender ( I mention to you, his in advanced level) and found one attractive one. Eat, laugh a little, catching up on the latest gossips before he sent me back to the office. Thanks dude, lain kali kite lepak2 lagi ok.
7. There some movements identify to sabotage the GE. Yeke? So where should the ink purchased around 2.4 million (Im not going to start where they source the money from) will go?
8. Last night, near my house area (Seri Setia) there is some campaign talk by the govt party. They called Alleycats and astronauts man to 'memeriahkan majlis'. If not because the heart-rob Sheikh Muzhappar and 'Terima Kaseeyyyy' I dont think anybody will show up. Please people distinguish between bribe and setting the matters straight. Sometime I think they just playing with the mindset of most intermediate-income people.
9. I am not being bias, but I often went to 'ilmiah talk' conducted by opposition-candidate. The rumours saying they always talk down dirty about the politics; is not true at all. Maybe it just him. (or her)
10. My birthday is coming up. Cant wait to feel terribly old again.

The Wardrobe battle and Home Improvement

I can’t say that I have a relaxing weekend although it is not my turn to work last Saturday. I have gone through my wardrobe for some serious rearrangement. You see, when you’re already married to someone who has a lot of clothes and pants and shoes; you have to set aside spaces for easy retrieval. This is hard decision when you only have limited spaces to work with.
It is become harder if your partner is making a sour look/not helping/ hurrying you up. But mine is nothing like that. He helped me through it until the end of it. Thanks, Sai..
At last, after many disagreements of what need to be here, and that’s –not- right -you -have to- fold- it –twice; and also a lot of new hangers, I felt contented with my hard work and a newly arranged wardrobe.

Let’s just hope it will be that way for a lot longer.

To celebrate our newly arranged life, my husband decide to treat me (actually it is the other way around but never mind) with a lunch and movie. We saw Vantage Point; this is a movie where you will feel like walking out the door after 30 minutes and curse. The first 20-30 minutes it will only give you flashback in rewind version starting at the same time, EVERY TIME. This happen around 3-4 times during the entire movie. So, I think the actor should have been paid less as they only repeat the same script all over again for different scenes. However, the shooting scenes and some stunt do amazed us. Overall, we rated it as an OK movie.
We had our lunch at Waroeng Penyet. Tasty and affordable and both of us could not help being flabbergasted by their promo that sounds ‘Rasanya Menendang!”.Indonesian language is colorful, I tell you.

I don’t feel I need to jot down whatever I’ve been doing on Sunday; because it’s all routine went-to-in-laws-and-help-fixing-the-place things that we have to do when we are there. For so many months now, I dragged myself to be there. It’s maybe appear selfish, but the thing is that you have been doing the same, tiring, and tedious chores every single time you give a visit; may give you the ultimatum. Luckily until now, everyone can still handle the pressure. I love my in-laws very much and they do love me back. I just need to cope with the amount of energy need to revitalized.

No one turns into the green-eyed monster. Yet.

If you have to move to a new house with so much stuff and you can’t figure out where to put it, so you know what I’m talking about.I just hope that finally we all can have peace in our mind.
